The Fundamentalist’s Problem by Crystal Kernan

One of the most frustrating things for a person who does not subscribe to a fundamentalist way of thinking is that having an open and expansive conversation about spirituality and God with a fundamentalist personality is virtually impossible, if possible at all. You see, the fundamentalist typically argues from one frame of reference only: his sacred text, or his sacred teacher, whatever the case may be. More times than not the sacred text is the Bible and the teacher is none other than Jesus himself.

Introduction to Wicca

What it is….What it isn’t
First and foremost, Welcome and Blessed be, you have chosen to persue a wonderous path, and to get you started out on the right foot, I am going to HIGHLY recommend that you run out and purchase a copy of Scott Cunningham’s Book “The Truth about Witchcraft Today”, by Llewellyn Publications, (no I don’t work for them, It is just an excellent starting book) and hopefully I’m not invading any copyright infringments by typing this, but what I am giving you here is the introduction taken straight from his book, it’s excellently written, and I don’t want to change a thing. So here it is…word for word..

Spring Kitchen Witch Class: Lesson One

Kitchen Witch Class

Path of the Kitchen Witch

What is a Kitchen Witch’s Path?
Quite simply, the path of a kitchen is witch is whatever she or he wants it to be. Some Kitchen Witches are Pagan or Wiccan and use the form of a magical household as part of their religious work. Others may solely use magic for magic sake, without any spiritual component to their workings. Others may belong to a mainstream religion and use magic as a part of that, similarly to how Christians may use Tarot cards.

A Rite of Passage

by Rev. Cheryl Sulyma-Masson

A Memorial Service
With the coming of Samhain, my thoughts often turn to those friends, family members, and pets who have crossed the bridge and no longer walk this earth plane with me. During this season, I once again take comfort in their companionship and love as I invite them to join in my rites. These things often lead my thoughts to ponder my own mortality. As a Witch, I have definite beliefs as to how my own transition should be. I shudder at the thought that non-sympathetic family members may be left to plan for this transition time without regards to my desires . Even well meaning friends and family members, without sincere knowledge of my ways, may be left uncertain of how to best fulfill my desires.

The Priestess by Charly

Surrendered to Divine Mother I be
Pouring river of thy love supreme
Light born from thy dark womb
I gathered fury of thy reign.
Given to thy smile eternal
Womb of thy heart manifesting
Music of thy string cheering
Notes of thy flute singing
Given to thy majesty supreme
Hole that knows no end
I, atoms of thy nucleus bursting
Surrendered all of life to thee
Every corner of my turn thy will supreme
To thee highest huntress / enchantress
I fling myself to thy bosom
Suck thy nectar of life
I be born to thee magick
Sweet fruit of my breath
Thru thy nostrils breathe I
Thy sight my eyes humbly do see
Mother Divine, thy son,
Does rest forever,
In thy well shot forward
Lightning bolt of fate
I thy gathered light
finger into darkness
Thy writes my fate
Holy Mother Divine.

Beltaine Moon by Charma

Thunderstorm echoes, speaking stories across the earth..
Neath the oaks secret lovers sip golden summer wine..
Beltaine moon rises, shining silver in the evening sky..
In the circle, vibrant, firelit, the lady waits.
DreamSinger sings the songs of old, the dancers spiral turning..
Earth and water, fire and air.. on the altar candles burning.
East then South, West and North, the corner wards are called.
Raise the cup and drink…salute to she who waits..
We who stand on the edge of wonder, ask and do invoke..
Into the circle enter, enter.. love and trust your oath.
The scent of incense fills the night, carries whispers on the wind..
The horned lord bidden, here the lady waits..
Mysteries are spoken, souls and hearts, our will be done…
Passions inflamed are given reign.. freed from earthly bounds.
Renewal, fulfillment, as above.. so below.. and blessed be.
Under the beltaine moon… The lady waits no more..

As I nurture and watch you grow.
From mornings dew and sun of afternoon
To rays of the stars and midnights moon

As I my will, So Mote it Be

Prayer for a New Parent

Holy Ones, see what has happened here!
I have become a father/mother;
a great mystery indeed.
I do not know in my head what to do,
I know in my heart what is right.
May I know the right thing with all of me
and do it no matter what the pain.
A hard road lies before me, shining ones,
a road filled with great difficulties,
a road filled with great joys.
Guide me along it.
Be at my side.

Angelica: The Herb of Angels by Solstice Moon

Angelica, from seed your beauty weaves,
Strong stems and healing leaves.
I ask your blessings to bestow,
As I nurse and watch you grow.
From morning’s dew through afternoon,
To ray of stars and midnight’s moon.
Michael comes upon this day,
To watch you grow and watch you play.
We call on you for health and hex,
For protection so complex.
Heal thy stomach and thy liver,
Angelica, your gifts deliver.
To break a hex and give protection,
Also used for introspection.
Mother Earth, watch over thee,
As I will, So Mote it Be.
