The Speech Of The High One

The Speech Of The High One

I know I hung on that windswept tree,
Swung there for nine long nights,
Wounded by my own blade,
Bloodied for Odinn,
Myself and offering to myself:
Bound to the tree
That no man knows
Wither the roots of it run.

Magick and Science by Rev. Dr. Scott Baldwin

Many people wonder how magick works. To the non-believer, they say that there is no proof that spells work.
And those abilities such as telekinesis are illusionary or product of imagination. They ask us to use scientific  means to explain how exactly these spells are supposed to work. The scope of this essay is to explain just  that.

This variation on the Banshee could be found in the legends of Ireland, Scotland and Brittany. The name ‘Bean-Nighe’ means washer woman. She was called this as she was usually seen washing bloody garments at the water’s edge. her feet were webbed like those of a duck or goose. If a traveler saw her before she spied him, he would survive, however, if she spied him first, he would die. In the Scottish Highlands, it was thought that only those about to die could see her.

The Everyday Clairvoyant: What’s Your Gift? (And Does It Help You Clean The House?)

I see pictures for a living.

That’s not the same as creating them; I can’t so much as draw a stick figure. Nor is it equivalent to collecting art or hanging photographs or scanning MRIs. It’s a little more, well, complex than that.

How to make incense

Burning incense makes great sense. It’s a natural, non-toxic air freshener that serves as a terrific alternative to today’s aerosols, plug-ins and the like. It also has a great track record; people have been using it for thousands of years and for all sorts of reasons.
Incense is basically a mixture of herbs, woods and resins that can be powdered and then burned slowly for a fragrant effect.  Ancient cultures burned it for ceremonies and worship. The Chinese and Japanese once burned it as a measurement of time, and today it’s used in religious rituals world-wide. But mostly it just smells great.  I will show you how to collect and prepare the ingredients needed for making incense, including a couple of recipes to get you started. After that, it’s up to you to experiment and create your own custom-made fragrances.

Seven Centers of Force

Chapter VI

In the previous chapter we have seen that, according to the Eastern teaching, the vital or etheric body is constituted of ether and acts as the conductor of prana which is the life principle and energizes matter and produces form. The vital body also embodies that sentient principle in nature called the soul, or rather the vital body is the expression and vehicle of the soul.

Path of the Kitchen Witch

What is a Kitchen Witch’s Path?
Quite simply, the path of a kitchen is witch is whatever she or he wants it to be. Some Kitchen Witches are Pagan or Wiccan and use the form of a magical household as part of their religious work. Others may solely use magic for magic sake, without any spiritual component to their workings. Others may belong to a mainstream religion and use magic as a part of that, similarly to how Christians may use Tarot cards.

A Prayer to the High Gods at Bedtime

As I go to bed, I pray to the High Gods.
I offer you my worship, and ask you to bless my family.
I ask if I have done anything today to offend you.
If I have, I ask for forgiveness and for guidance,
that I might walk the sacred path in peace and in beauty.
As I go to bed, I pray to the gods of my household.
I offer you my worship and ask you to bless my family.
I ask if I have done anything today to offend you.
If I have, I ask for forgiveness and for guidance,
that I might walk the sacred path in peace and in beauty.
As I go to bed, I pray to the Ancestors.
I do you honor and ask you to bless my family.
I ask if you I have done anything to offend you.
If I have, I ask for forgiveness and for guidance,
that I might walk the sacred path in peace and in beauty.
As I go to bed, I pray to all numinous beings.
I do you honor and ask that you extend your blessings over me and mine.
