Structural Links – Lesson Three

A radionics expert once stated that radionics is part of ceremonial magic. He considers the tuner a solidified thought form and the rates representing agreements with the subtle nature spirits.

I can agree with such an animistic approach. In the old times, people thought of lightning being a “god.” In fact, they considered practically all natural phenomena, even the planetary energies, as being anthropomorphic gods, i.e., gods that look somewhat like humans. Still in our days most people have a concept of a gaseous mammal above the clouds, usually bearded and of the male sex who “made it all” with “his” hands.

Metamorphosis Magic

by Charles La Shure

Among the deities and semi-deities of ancient Korea, the chosen method of battle was magic. Unlike Western magic, which often involves incantations cast to harm the enemy, metamorphosis magic was more indirect. Rather than directly attempting to harm the enemy, one would test one’s strength against an opponent by changing into various animals. The transformation would continue until one party gave up. In all instances the weaker party transforms first and is then bested by the stronger party who transforms into a stronger animal, most often the weaker animal’s traditional hunter or nemesis. The contest ends without violence, and is really a test of strength that is a substitute for direct battle. For examples of metamorphosis magic, see the stories of Habaek and T’alhae.

Joe is a parapsychologist, a practicing psychologist, the author of sixteen books in three languages, a clinical hypnotist, founder of the International Parapsychology Research Foundation, and a retired professor from the University of Northern Alabama. As for me, I’ve been publishing books for a half-century and am a life-long student of parapsychology, the occult, Jungian psychology, astrology, magic, Wicca, and most related subjects. Basically, I’m an observer and a philosopher.

In  studying  magic I’ve been exposed to a  lot  of  related fields–history,  mythology, music–which enrich my understanding of  my vocation.   One of the most helpful series of  books  I’ve encountered  is a set of five volumes starting with The Structure of Magic I. and II. which focus on… psychology.

How to power a magic spell

by Black Cat

Some believe that Witches say a few magic words and do a ritual and then a spell is created and performs its function.

There is a metaphorical plane, a plane where all the psychic energy of both the living and the dead exists. We draw from this energy when we are being creative. It can also be psychically tapped to energize one’s will and envisionment to cast spells.

Moshanyana

by Annette Kuperman

Moshanyana is a mythic hero from the Sotho people of South Africa. They tell a tale of how all of the people and animals of the world were swallowed up by a monster called Kholumolumo. One pregnant woman escaped, and as the monster got stuck in a mountain pass because it had grown so large, she gave birth to a child, Moshanyana. He became a man in a very short time and slew the beast. He cut it open and released all of the people and animals that had been eaten. Eventually, some of the villagers grew jealous of him and tried to kill him. He escaped three times by using magic, but allowed himself to be killed the fourth time.
