Affirmations and Rethinking by Choalayna

On your journey in Meditation it is important to understand first that it will not be easy if you are truly trying to do it and do it right As we mentioned, the ego-conscious is not gonna go down without a fight. This is the reason for this page. Along the path you will encounter a “breaking down” of thoughts and changes in consciousness. Sometimes this is the hardest part to continue with. It was for me.

What is ‘normal’ anyway?

Bob Trubshaw

One the phrases often bandied around in Earth mysteries circles – and elsewhere – is ‘altered states of consciousness’, or ‘ASCs’ to the lovers of acronyms. But few ever get round to defining what ASCs are – or are not. The views of arid academe rarely reconcile with the equally-infuriating unacademic ‘consciousness-zapping’ New Age. Perhaps this is because those who have been on the ‘front line’ of ASC experiences rarely think seriously about the brain, while the academics are constrained by their career prospects and rarely use any imagination. All the more frustrating because, for the first time in human history, we have access to most of the world’s religious, healing and consciousness-altering disciplines.

Initiations

by Anja Heij

An initiation is a willed and permanent change in energy and consciousness, guided and started through a ritual. You may regard it as taking another step forward on the ladder of your life, or as taking off one of the many veils over your body of light. Energetically spoken an initiation is equal to the removal of certain energy blocks.

14 – Art

by Anja Heij

The word Art refers to the alchemist art of transforming matter through purification from an imperfect state into a perfect one. This was done by first analysing and transforming the different elements and then mingling opposites in the right proportions. But in fact alchemy is an inner process of refining yourself: first look at all the parts of yourself, bring them into your consciousness, accept them and then mingle your male and female side into a perfect mixture. Tantra describes this as finding the inner lover. The Art card shows this integration of male and female: here the dark man and the light woman of the Lovers card (no. 6) have become one androgyne figure. Through the inner synthesis of our opposite sides we become a higher version of
ourselves.

The Path of the Shaman Then and Now

by Amber Wolfe

I recently heard a wonderfully simple definition of the word shaman .
It was: “A shaman is one who helps people in their dealings with the other worlds.”
These other worlds are the realms above, beyond, and deep within the experiences of our lives. These are the realms of spiritual, psychic vision and of pure, natural Earth energies. In shamanism, these worlds were traditionally represented as the upper world of the sky, or spirit levels, and the lower worlds of Earth and Nature. Humankind, along with all its symbols and traditions, was the middle world. Because of their abilities to alter their states of consciousness, the shamans were able to explore these worlds and bring back vision.

Shamanic Consciousness

by Amber Wolfe

To understand the sacred, other world journey of the shaman , it is necessary to first understand shamanic consciousness. To begin with, consciousness is usually divided into two primary types:
The focused, waking consciousness in which we are alert and aware of our surroundings.
The unfocused, non-waking consciousness in which we are either dreaming or unconscious of our surroundings.
