Balancing Personal Working Energies

Balancing Personal Working Energies
By ECT

A Magical Exercise for Two People at the Spring Equinox ‘This is the work of the Equilibrium of the Balance’ In an equal balance of the Active and Receptive Forces is the Equilibrium achieved. This is a magical exercise of Balancing. It can be done at any tune by any two people. It is very appropriate for a loving couple at the time of the Spring Equinox when the Sun moves into Libra the Scales. This exercise itself does not involve sexual activity.
Another very good magickal use is when two adepts of the Order require especial cooperate working together on a charge or project, this exercise helps strengthen the psychic bond between them and blend their auras together.
Its greatest value is usually for balancing energies when things between two people have gone awry and you both want to re-establish your relationships on a more harmonious basis. The following is an extract from the rites of one of the older magical orders.

An Et Custosi Tutelae Libra Rite of Balancing
The Hierophant remains at his station while one person takes on the role of Minister of Water shall stand [or kneel or sit] before the Left Pillar and their partner takes on the Minister of Fire shall stand for kneel or sit before the Right Pillar facing each other.

The Hierophant of the Rite shall say:
“Let the Ministers of Fire and Water step forward that the neophytes might learn the Equilibrium of the Balance in Love.”
“Let each place their left hand upon the forehead of the other, so that the heel of the hand is between the eyes tips of the fingers rest lightly upon the crown of the head. Let each now place the tips of the fingers of their right hand upon the solar plexus of the other at the heel of the hand is at the level of the navel.”

The Ministers of Fire and Water place their hands and say both together and respond:
“Three Mother Letters; ‘Alef, Meyim and Shin; Air, Water and Fire in the living Spirit Minister for Water: “Meyim is the murmuring of the Waters”
Minister for Fire: “Shin is the hissing of the flames”
Both together: “Alef is the breath of air. That reconciles the two of them”
Minister for Fire: “The Head is created from the Fire”
Minister for Water: “The Belly is created from the Waters”
Both together: “The Spirit from a breath of Air between them. To hold them both in balance”

When the two flows are fully balanced and achieve equilibrium then they merge to form the Six pointed Star of Perfect Equilibrium, which stands at the heart of the universe and is called within the ancient mysteries of the Order, ‘Rachamin ba-Emtsa’

The Hierophant shall continue:
“Let the two of them begin to breathe together, timing their breath so that they
breathe in unison together, not holding their breath at any time, allowing their breath to flow smoothly in and out of their nostrils gently smoothly, slowly and deeply.
Thus, does the breath of Air flow between the Fire of the Head and the Waters of the Belly and reconciles the two of them”

The adepts and members at the ceremony company shall move into pairs of diverse polarity male and female, or aged and youthful or adept and neophyte. Each paw shall stand or kneel or sit facing each other and shall adopt the posture and murmur the above responses quietly to each other. Then each pair shall breathe together in unison, slowly, gently smoothly and deeply. This exercise is usually done for 5 to 10 minutes. It as concluded by the couple again repeating the Responses, and saying together:
The Hierophant shall conclude with: “Compassion is at the Centre. To feel another’s feelings is the beginning of Steadfast Love”
End.

Additional Comments: Pairing can be between any two people. If they are not of similar height, it is better to do it sitting or kneeling. When standing, balance is best kept by placing one foot a little forward, and leaning lightly into each other. If they do not agree on which should be Fire and which Water for the responses, then both should say the words together.
The responses are taken from Sefer Yetzirah, an ancient Qabalistic text. It plays on the Hebrew word Ruach, which means both Air and Spirit and is often referred to the Essential Self. The breath comes from the lungs which lie half-way between the head and the belly, and here are regarded as the seat of the Spirit. The lungs are referred to the letter Gimel, which is also referred to Venus.

Visualisation
Reference, the figure above: The dotted line refers to the flow of energy visualised by person (A) on the left side of the figure, the unbroken line to the flow of energy visualised by person (B) on the right side of the figure. While breathing in unison, each person visualises a flow of energy from the head of the A other person through their left hand and arm, across their lungs, through their right arm and hand to the belly of the other person, whence it rises to the head of the other person and begins the cycle again.
Each flow of energy forms a figure-of-eight or infinity symbol. Most folk visualise the flow entering their left hand as they begin to breathe in, and leaving their right hand as they begin to breathe out. Do not concern yourself about the other flow of energy; let your partner visualise that. Both flows of energy flow side by side in the same direction, but have different polarities. This generates a very powerful, stable field of balanced energy, resulting in healing and integration of the couple involved.

A few quotes about Druids:

A few quotes about Druids:

“The principal point of their teaching is that the soul does not perish, and that after death it passes from one body into another.” …..Julius Caesar.

“Among them the doctrine of Pythagoras prevails, according to which the souls of men are immortal, and after a fixed term recommence to live, taking upon themselves a new body.”….Diodorus

According to some sources, this transmigration of the soul was done in an upward fashion, with each incarnation bringing the Being closer to the True Spirit. According to others, we are reincarnated into future lives of our progeny…thus Mongan is The Spirit of Fionn reincarnated in the Seventh Century CE (Fionn himself was said to be Cumhail reincarnated). As we have seen previously, the Spirit of Tuan mac Carill is reincarnated several times as a variety of animals until he is reborn in the sixth century and relates his history of Ireland from the time of Partholan forward, St. Finnen is the Irish monk to whom the story was related. This story was eventually recorded in the Eleventh century manuscript, “The Book of the Dun Cow”.

No record exists to indicate that the Druids believed in “karma”, duality (as seen in the concept of “good and evil”), original sin (actually they believed man was inheritly good), nor a heaven and hell afterlife.

Where did one’s soul reside then? Many stories were told and written of the Otherworlds that awaited the Spirit between incarnations, these stories are called immrama or “wonder voyages” and usually involve taking ship to a Magickal Isle. The voyages of Bran and St. Brendan generally fit into these catagories.

When one arrives at an Otherworldly island, time can pass extremely slowly compared to the Physical world. Oisin the son of Fionn went to such a faery world for a few days only. When he returned for a visit upon one of those Magickal White Horses, he discovered that many hundreds of years had passsed. Although he had been cautioned not to dismount during his visit, he did so and was immediately transformed into an extremely elderly man. St. Patrick was brought to him and heard his many stories of the exploits of Fionn and the Fianna as well as the lands of Tir na Og. Oisin was eventualy rescued by his Sidhe princess and returned to the Land of Eternal Youth. Some of the other Lands are called:

Tir fo Thuinn – Land under the Wave.

Tir na mBan – Land of Women.

Tir na mBeo – Land of Life.

These four Tirs or lands make up the Celtic Underworld where Souls reside until reborn. There are also Plains above that are generally the habitations of the Gods.

Thes are:

Sen Magh – Old Plain

Magh Argetal – Plain of Silver Clouds

Magh Mell – Plain of Delight

Magh Ionganaidh – Plain of Wonder

The Irish Celts felt that the Being had the following attributes or divisions:

Delph – The appearance or Outer form

Duile – The Body Elements (flesh, bone, blood, etc)

Ana’l – The breath or anima

Menma – The Mind and the Will

Cuimhne – The Memory

Fein – The Self

Pu’ca – The shape-shifting Shadow

Enaid – The Soul.

I would like to finish my remarks on Reincarnation and Transmigration with another ancient verse. This verse is from the Fifth Century CE and is the translation by Kuno Meyer:

“I invoke the seven daughters of the sea

Who fashion the threads of the sons of long life.

May three deaths be taken from me!

May seven waves of good fortune be dealt to me!

May no evil spirits harm me on my circuit!

In flashing corslet without hindrance!

May my fame not perish!

May old age come to me, may death not come

To me until I am old!”

“I invoke Senach of the seven periods of time,

Whom fairy women have reared on the breasts of plenty.

May my seven candles not be extinguished!

I am an indestructable stronghold.

I am an unshaken rock.

I am a precious stone.

I am the luck of the week.

May I live a hundred times a hundred years.

Each hundred of them apart!

I summon their boons to me.

May the grace of the Holy Spirit be upon me!”

That’s the Celtic view of life! To live but to have variety and passion, while reincarnating over and over!

History of Egyptian Medicine and Philosophy

by Lynn Bellair

When medical knowledge past is considered, lack of aseptic technique, pain-killing drugs and antibiotics are an accepted part of our modern legend of these ancient healing practices. You will find that none of this is true when it comes to Ancient Egypt. These erroneous ideas were partially propagated through an over reliance on carved inscriptions and tomb art. Then as now, the majority of the literature, medical knowledge and science of a civilization is never inscribed on indestructible materials. Another factor has been the academic and cultural prejudice that treats the past’s achievements as the product of near savages with nothing of importance to teach us know-it-all moderns. It is only in the last few years the discovery and translation of a few papyri has broadened our understanding of the skill and ability these ancient healers developed over the millennia.

Synaesthesia: The Crossing of the Senses by Cheryl Lynne Bradley

“We interpret one sense by another.”
William Hazlitt

“Although medicine has known about synaesthesia for three centuries, it keeps forgetting that it knows. Richard Cytowic, in “Synaesthesia: Phenomenology and Neuropsychology
a Review of Current Knowledge” Could you imagine going through life every day seeing sound, hearing colour, tasting shapes, hearing smells or tasting colours. These are some of the ways a synesthete experiences the world. One synesthete describes the experience of listening to a saxaphone as a writhing mass of neon-purple snakes hovering in the air another describes a mint as a cool, smooth glass tube.

Butterfly Medicine: A Spell For Binding a Perpetrator From Doing Harm

created by Catherine Sullivan

Summary:

The intent of this spell is to prevent one individual from harming others by word or deed.

Note, if the person you are aiming this spell at is not doing anything to harm another, the spell will have no effect. It does not limit or infringe upon the free will of the individual in any way except to keep that person from harming another. It is self-limiting, in that when the subject grows spiritually to the point that he/she chooses freely not to harm others, the spell dissolves.

ASPECTS

Aspects are an important part of modern astrology. As the planets move in their elongated orbits around the Sun, they form various angular relationships with one another, using the Sun (or Earth) as the center. These are called Aspects. The most popular aspects result from dividing the circle by numbers like 1,2,3,4, resulting in aspects such as the conjunction (0 degrees), opposition (180 degrees), trine (120 degrees), square (90 degrees), and so forth. When two planets form an aspect with one another, their energies and natures are said to combine and work in harmony or discord. For example, when two planets are exactly on opposite sides of the Sun (earth), they are in opposition.

Kundalini

by Anodea Judith

What is this strange and mysterious Goddess force?
I like to think of Kundalini with a metaphor of connecting gears. In an undeveloped person, the chakras are likely to be small. Each one is spinning in its relative place, but the spinning of one does not necessarily affect the spinning of another. As the chakras grow through the capacity to handle increased energy, they are more likely to touch each other and thereby stimulate the spinning of a chakra above or below. When this occurs, we feel an increased rush of energy and awareness throughout our whole system. We experience the Kundalini force.
