Kitchen Witch Crede

Kitchen Witch Crede

In this pot, I stir to the sun, an’
follow the rule of harming
none. Banishment of bane
when going widdershins; an’
with water and salt negativity is
cleansed. Household duties are
more than chores. Magick
abounds when mopping floors.
With this broom, I do sweep to
clean my house and safely keep.
Marigold, Basil, Thyme, and
Yarrow my spell is cast for a
better tomorrow. Lemons for
joy and apples for health the
pow’r within brings great
wealth. And, in this kitchen I
do pray To truly walk the
Witches’ Way.

Erinyes   ee RIHN ih eez

The Mist-Walking

Originally called Erinys… later called, Erinyes. Referred to as, ‘the mist-walking… ’ and, with fear and respect, ‘the kindly one’. She would harass and injure her prey but not kill them. Homer refers to her in the singular (Odyssey, book 15, line 234) but, much later (circa 450 BCE), Euripides used the number ‘three’ and eventually ‘they’ assumed the names: Tisiphone, Megaera and Alekto (Alecto). Their brass wings made escape impossible, their ripping claws made their torment relentless and horrible.

Ayizan Velekete

Where Loko Atissou is the father of all kanzo initiates, Ayizan is the Mother of all Initiates. Ayizan Velekete is her full name, and she is often seen as a very old woman, with an apron that has deep pockets. Ayizan is a root lwa, bringing the mysteries of the Kanzo and of life and death to us here int he Marketplace. The Yoruba tradition refers to the earthy plane as the Marketplace, so it is fitting that Ayizan is the one who brings them down to us.  She is the lwa that tears into the djevo during the Chire Ayizan, purifying it for the hunyos (the spirit children), who will birth into Mambos and Houngans.

Apep

Apep (or Apophis or Apopis), a dragon of Chaos was an Egyptian dragon and can be seen as the opposite of the sun god Re (or Ra). Every day Apep fought with Re, in order to turn the world into darkness. Apep wanted to prevent Re in travelling from east to west across the sky each day. He fought with, storms and darkness and rain against Re. At the end of the day, Apep succeeded and Re made went into the Underworld. This is the moment when darkness (night) covered the earth instead of daylight. Re, however, was reborn the next day, as a matter of fact, he was reborn every day, so Apep had to fight the same battle with Re over and over. This battle can be seen as symbol of the cycle of life and death (information provided by Dragonfly).

Dragons can be very difficult to deal with at times. They can be very arrogant, stubborn, and all mighty, and at other times very nice, co-operative, and respectful. It will all depend on how you approach a Dragon how they will react to you. Since they have come to be very cautious of humans, earning their trust and respect are the first things you need to do. By doing so, you will end up with a great relationship with them. Here are some things to keep in mind when dealing with them.

Dangers of Enochian Magick by Gerald and Betty Scheuler

The dangers of Enochian Magick have at certain times been blown out of all proportion, and at other times carelessly denigrated. Aleister Crowley, for example, casually dismissed its dangers, and his writings leave the risks to the student’s karma . On the other hand, several groups of the Golden Dawn refuse to practice Enochian Magick at all because they believe it is far too dangerous to meddle with. The truth lies in the middle of these two extremes. There are very real dangers associated with the practice of Enochian Magick.
