Esus

God of war. Celtic (Continental European). Mentioned by the Roman writer Lucan but otherwise virtually unknown. He may have originated as a tree god. One carving [Trier] identifies Esus felling a tree with birds in the branches (see also INANA). Elsewhere he is associated with three cranes and a bull.

 

Atahensic

According to the Iroquois, a sky goddess who fell to the earth at the beginning of creation. She is said to have died giving birth to the twins Hahgwehdiyu and Hahgwehdaetgah, who after her death created the world from her corpse. She is associated with marriage, childbirth, and feminine crafts.
